The Oh Hellos, Maggie Heath and Tyler Heath, are a sibling duo band from San Marcos, Texas. Their music genre is best described as folk indie rock and their main inspiration for their music is the Christian faith. Both artists have stated that their music can be interpreted in any way the listener desires. Their music likes to borrow influence from mythology and history, but also Christian scripture.

Because of the band’s message of allowing the viewer to interpret their music the way they want, I decided to focus this project on how I first viewed the album when I listened to it for the first time in 2018. Also, with the influence of their inspiration with scripture and history, I drew my ideas from older imagery, combining it with modern crafting elements. Construction paper scraps, art book scans, and pen and ink drawings all contributed to the final designs.
The promo video takes inspiration from Stop Motion animation since, the imagery used for the album design is very static. I wanted to keep the story element in place for the promo video, allowing for the viewer to interpret it however they wish, just like how The Oh Hello’s music is up to listeners interpretation.
